Alumni Club Officers

President – Jayden Humphrey
(Bond 562, B.M. Music Education 2023)

Jayden joined Phi Delta Theta in the Fall of 2019. He served as President, Vice President, Recruitment Chair, and Treasurer. He was involved in all 3 Emporia State Choirs as well as enjoyed playing at First Congregational Church in Emporia for the latter half of his collegiate career. Jayden has been involved on Alumni Club for the past 2 years since graduation, and he is encouraged to see it grow again.

Jayden currently resides in Wichita where he works as a Vocal Music Teacher for Wichita Public Schools and enjoys singing barbershop music with his chorus every Monday Night.

Vice President – Mike Penner
(Bond 155, B.F.A in Speech Communications – 1983)

Mike joined Phi Delta Theta in the fall of 1978.  He served in numerous capacities as an undergraduate with the Chapter, including Vice President, Treasurer and Recruitment Co-Chair.  He also served as President of the Union Activities Council in 1980-81.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Student Personnel Administration from Kansas State University.  Mike worked in health care administration for 30 years before retiring in 2021, including the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, the American Cancer Society, Truman Medical Centers and Children’s Mercy.  He and his spouse, Bob reside in Shawnee, KS.

Treasurer – Tim Wolken
(Bond 154, B.S. in Sports Management – 1982)

Tim joined Phi Delta Theta in 1978.   He served as Chapter President, IFC President, and numerous other officer positions while as an undergraduate.  He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Wichita State University and worked in local government for 40 years prior to his retirement in 2021.  He and his wife Veronica reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Secretary – Matt Bricker
(Bond 452, B.A. History 2008, B.A. Sociology 2010)

Matt joined Phi Delta Theta in the fall of 2003.  During his active years, he served in several leadership roles for the chapter such as President and Phikeia Educator. He was also active in several campus organizations such as Xi Phi, Order of Omega, and IFC. Since graduation, Matt has been involved as an alumni serving on the Alumni Club and CAB for several years at various times.  

Matt currently lives in Kansas City with Petra, his wife (Phi Delt Sweetheart 2009), and their dog Lupin (muppet). He works as a Product Manager for PSI Services in Olathe, KS and is very involved in the local hockey community.

Scholarship Chair – Roger Heineken
(Bond 160, B.F.A. in Art, 1978)

Roger joined Phi Delta Theta while taking graduate courses in Counselor Ed. in 1979.  In the 1979-80 academic year, he served as live-in graduate advisor. In 1981, he became the chapter advisor for 11 years through 1992. He returned as chapter advisor for two years from 1994 – 1996. Because of his career on campus working in the Memorial Union, Roger has remained engaged in chapter life, becoming friends with generations of Kansas Epsilon bothers.
Roger has served as the Club Scholarship Chair for many years, and today in retirement, serves as a live-in alumnus advisor and acts as an on-site agent for the Merchant Housing Corporation.

Member at Large – Jeremy Walter
(Bond 474)

Jeremy served as President, Vice President, Secretary, Phikeia Educator, and a host of other positions in my time with the active chapter. He have served with the Alumni Club for a little over four years. 

Jeremy is an attorney in Houston specializing in commercial litigation. He is a partner with the law firm Gray Reed & McGraw. He lives with my former-chapter-sweetheart wife Ellen, and our two daughters, Rose (8) and Archer (6). They round the family out with Donut the dog and Elvis the rabbit.

Member at Large – Logan Cox

Member at Large – Doug Lees
(Bond 147, B.S. Public Affairs, 1978)

At KS Epsilon, he served as Chapter President and later as Chapter Advisor. Doug is now retired after a career in government, having worked as Florida’s Vaccines For Children Coordinator and as a federal grants manager at the Corporation for National an Community Service (AmeriCorps) and the National Cancer Institute (NIH-NCI). For over a decade, Doug and his wife, Viv, have continued to lead mission groups that help with the construction of cinder block homes in Panajachel area of Guatemala.

Member at Large – Koby McCarty

Koby joined Phi Delta Theta’s Kansas Epsilon chapter in 2022. During his time as an active member, he served two consecutive years as Treasurer. Now an alumnus, he continues his involvement as a Member-at-Large for the Alumni Club and currently serves as the Chapter Advisory Board’s Financial Advisor.

Koby resides in Emporia, Kansas, and is employed at Emporia State University as an Admissions Counselor. He plans to begin his Master of Business Administration program in January 2026.

Member at Large – Steve Traylor
(Bond 139, B.M. Music Education – 1982)

Steve Traylor is an accomplished professional musician in CO, KS, & WY, performing on bass trombone, tuba, and tenor trombone. He grew up in Burlington, Kansas, and graduated from Emporia State University (Emporia, KS) with a BME in Music Education. After teaching in Kansas, he moved to Colorado, eventually attending the University of Denver and earning an MBA and a Master of Music in Bass Trombone Performance.

While a student at Emporia State University, Steve was busy. He served as President, Vice President, & Lectures Chairperson of the Union Activities Council. He was a trombonist of the Hornet Marching Band, Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Big Band, Symphonic Choir, Men’s Chorale, & numerous small ensembles/pit orchestras.  Steve served Phi Delta Theta as Pledge Educator & Social Chairman. Most importantly, he was pledge pop to outstanding members Roger Heineken, Mike Penner, and Mel Fuqua, plus was the first of PDT Traylor brothers – Jerry, Mark, & Eric.

Preston joined Phi Delta Theta in the fall of 2021. During his active years, he served in several leadership roles for the chapter such as Webmaster, House Manager, and Vice President. Since graduation, Preston has been involved as an alumni serving on the Alumni Club and Housing Corporation.

Preston currently lives in Kansas City, where he works as a Coordinator for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Eligibility Center.
